I'm a tech entrepreneur and a scientist. My main interests are the applications of artificial intelligence and how technology can be used for human flourishing. I write about data science and climate change.

In the past, I've worked on the science of fusion plasmas, gravitational wave detection, supercomputer simulations of star formation, mining data from the web, adaptive learning systems, and e-health databases.

In 2013, I helped cofound Paladin AI and currently serve as the Chief Technology Officer. We use data mining and machine learning techniques to improve pilot training at flight schools and airlines.

I freelance part-time as a writer, data science mentor, and winemaker.
